Portraiture
The origin of the word "portrait" finds its beginnings in the old French phrase "trait pour trait," meaning "line for line," a term used to describe the process of creating a portrait by hand with a medium like paint or charcoal. The verb "portraire" in French means "to portray," as in "to create a likeness of."
I view portrait work with the same kind of mentality, a portrait is not simply a snapshot of you as static in time, it is a portrayal of who you are and where you want to be in that exact moment.
